Die österreichische EU-Ratspräsidentschaft im Überblick

Die wichtigsten Themen auf der Tagesordnung waren: Verfassungsvertrag und Zukunftsdebatte; Erweiterung, Außenpolitik, Krisenmanagement; Energiepolitik, Wachstum und Beschäftigung, Binnenmarkt; Finanzen der Union; Innere Sicherheit; Nachhaltige Entwicklung. EU-intern war das 1. Halbjahr 2006 von einigen großen horizontalen Themen, wie Wachstum und Beschäftigung, Energie, Migration und Sicherheit, geprägt – keine Zeit der Trendwenden oder „Jahrhundertpakete“, aber eine Periode solider Routinearbeit. Außenpolitisch brachte das Semester eine Reihe unerwarteter Herausforderungen, die allesamt zeigen, dass die Konsolidierung der EU als internationaler Akteur auch in Zukunft eine der großen Herausforderungen bleiben wird. Vor allem in der Energiepolitik und beim Krisenmanagement konnten im 1. Semester 2006 neue Akzente gesetzt werden.Downloads

- If written under the auspices of a grant from one or more funding agencies, such as FWF (Austrian Science Fund), ERC (European Research Council), and Horizon 2020 (EU Framework Programme), an article accepted for publication has to be deposited in an Open Access archive. The OZP’s archiving policy is compliant with these provisions. (In case the article derives on funding from a different source, the author is responsible to check compliance of provisions.)
