Internationally, the research approach „Politics and Law” is an important element of political science as a social scientific discipline. This text discusses the importance of law for understanding social structures and the difficulties of political science in Austria in dealing with law and its implications. It is examined what "Politics and Law", as a subfield of the discipline, may provide for research, and why students of political science should be taught in jurisprudential issues, and particularly constitutional law.Downloads
